Obduction was initially released for the PC back in 2016 with HTC Vive and Oculus Rift support and was later launched for the PlayStation 4 last year. But I didn’t even see demos for $50 and $60 games like Robinson the Journey or Skyrim, which makes me think maybe I am just missing them in the store navigation.Īm I missing some kind of “download demo“ button for each game I look at?įor anyone who can appreciate my search for the Obduction / The Witness vibe.Developer Cyan Inc., the team behind the puzzle adventure title Obduction, announced that the game would be getting PSVR support soon.
One theory is that there is so little to some of these $20 quickie games that letting a player try it out would basically be the same as letting him have the whole experience. Especially because I didn’t even see such a button for titles like Job Simulator or Moss - both of which I know have demos, since I got those on my demo disk. I’m wondering if I’m just missing the “try demo” button on these titles. But I just went to the PlayStation store, and couldn’t find a demo for any of the games I wanted to check out: I formed the impression that “most PSVR games have demos“ (or at least that “a lot“ of them do). So, now that I’m happily exploring the possibilities with my new PSVR, I’m looking at games that aren’t at the top of most people‘s lists, or older games that have slipped off the radar. I’m open to a little action, such as the small amounts in The Talos Principle, or Portal 2, since that comes hand-in-hand with great exploration, story and/or puzzles. I’m not an action gamer, so I know I’m not the target audience for most PSVR games, as I go looking for exploration, pleasant / beautiful / interesting scenery, and some combination of puzzles and story.
